Don't Let the Clock Run Out: Support Ngamba Before Year End

D

Dr. Joshua Rukundo

Executive Director

As the year draws to a close, we face a critical funding gap for our veterinary supplies and daily feeding program. Every contribution brings us closer to ensuring our 53 chimpanzees enter the new year healthy and cared for.

As the year draws to a close, the Chimpanzee Trust faces a critical moment. Our veterinary supplies are running low, and the cost of feeding 53 chimpanzees — four meals a day, every single day — continues to rise.

Each chimpanzee at Ngamba Island consumes approximately 20kg of food daily. That’s over a tonne of fresh fruits, vegetables, and specialized primate nutrition every single day. The logistics of transporting this food across Lake Victoria to our island sanctuary adds another layer of complexity and cost.

What Your Donation Covers

A gift of $50 feeds one chimpanzee for an entire week. $200 covers a month of veterinary check-ups for our aging colony. And $500 can fund an emergency rescue operation for a confiscated chimpanzee.

We are deeply grateful for every contribution, no matter the size. Together, we can ensure that the clock doesn’t run out on the chimps who depend on us.
